John Belamaric is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google with over 25 years of software design and development experience. As a co-chair of Kubernetes SIG Architecture, he provides leadership on production readiness, conformance, and overall software architecture for the Kubernetes community. At Google Cloud, he leads efforts in Kubernetes OSS, GKE and Configuration and Policy Automation.

Prior to Google, John led efforts at Infoblox to move from Mesos/Marathon to Kubernetes, and to a microservices based architecture for their cloud-based offerings. He also led initiatives there to enable IPAM in OpenStack, package Infoblox’s offerings as an NFV, and to bring CoreDNS to Kubernetes as the default in-cluster DNS.

John is a core maintainer of CoreDNS, a CNCF project that provides dynamic, DNS-based service discovery in Kubernetes and other container and cloud stacks. He holds three patents, and is a co-author of "Learning CoreDNS" from O’Reilly and "OpenStack Cloud Application Development" from Wiley.
