Thom McCann

Sr. Manager Software Engineering
For decades, Thom McCann has been an innovator in the technology industry across several different software projects. As the creator of Outlook Web Access and key member of the teams that delivered the first versions of Windows NT and Exchange Server, he has built products reaching 100s of millions of users.

Thom also created an iPad game (Joggle) that went top 10 in 8 countries including #4 in the UK. In 2016 he created Conducktor, a multi tenant container orchestration platform serving 40 applications and 100+ million requests per day for a Global 500 company. Leveraging open source software, this platform drove costs down by 4x and accelerated development of key projects by an order of magnitude.

Thom had the honor to receive the 2018 International Space Station Innovation Award on behalf of the project team at the University of Pennsylvania. Thom was the leader of software development for the Cognition project which measures Astronaut cognitive health on real and simulated space missions.

As a speaker, Thom has given many public presentations at high profile industry conferences as part of major product launches with thousands of attendees. He has done countless user group presentations and has scheduled appearances at Docker meetup groups as well as AWS re:Invent.
